Marta Vanduzer-Snow charity film

A vision for change
In collaboration with Marta Vanduzer-Snow, an American scholar from Boston and co-founder of Safalgram, we embarked on a journey to authentically portray her unwavering dedication to improving rural infrastructure and sanitation in India. Marta introduced the innovative evapotranspiration toilet to India, transforming rural sanitation in Uttar Pradesh. We documented her journey through personal interviews and on-site filming, capturing her resilience and the challenges she faced in building over 80 toilets using affordable materials and community participation.

A fresh voice behind the lens

Collaborating with first-time filmmaker Barnali Kalita, we brought Marta’s story to life with an authentic and heartfelt narrative. Barnali’s fresh perspective and raw storytelling style resonated deeply with viewers, inspiring donors across the globe and significantly boosting support for Safalgram’s mission.

Storytelling that drives impact
The film not only raised awareness about sustainable rural development but also demonstrated how purpose-driven storytelling can amplify social impact. It showcased the potential of genuine narratives to mobilize resources, connect communities, and inspire meaningful change worldwide.
